POP BABE’S ALAN PARTRIDGE SEX SHAME

- By SUZIE SHELDON news@sundaysport.co.uk

HOLE singer Courtney Love has claimed sex with Alan Partridge star Steve Coogan is ‘one of life’s great shames’ – along with crack – in a new Instagram post. The pair had a brief fling in 2005. Sharing a picture of herself in a car, Courtney wrote: “A happy Australian cruising around, Australia... America’s Sweetheart having her revenge, on, Melbourne? AMAZING!

“Maybe one day I won’t hate that record. It has some good songs. But like Steve Coogan, or crack, it’s one of my life’s great shames.

“Just the period, sloppiness, men, money, drugs, nightmare.... although Chateau Miraval (where we made it) doesn’t suck.”

Courtney, 56, who was married to the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, previously said she only knew Coogan for his role as record boss Tony Wilson and had not heard of his Alan Partridge character.

She said: “I thought he was Tony Wilson in 24 Hour Party People – someone I’d always had a daddy thing for.

“I had never seen Alan Partridge. But I was in a band with people who did know Alan Partridge, so I had to make a record with them constantly saying, ‘Back of the net!’”

She insisted: “All it was was a couple of shags at the Sunset Marquis and I did not know he was Alan Partridge.”

The singer was admitted to rehab after that to kick her ongoing drug habit.

She later released this statement: “Courtney Love wishes to make it clear that she denies recent stories suggesting she is pregnant or has had a relationship with Steve Coogan.

“She confirms that she and Steve are good friends and have met a few times in Los Angeles.”

Coogan’s spokesperson said: “He is astonished by this. It is ridiculous.”

Piers Morgan, 55, addressed the story in an interview with Coogan for GQ.

Piers asked him: “How true was the Courtney story, then?”

Coogan replied: “Some of it was true, most of it was bollocks.

“To borrow the title of the film, it was 20 per cent cock and 80 per cent bull.”
