Death Row killer dies in hospital
A MAN on Death Row for killing 11 women and having sex with their corpses has died of natural causes in a prison hospital.
Anthony Sowell, 61 ( above), who earned the nickname “Cleveland strangler” for the murders, was convicted and sentenced in 2011 for the slayings.
He had a terminal illness and died at Franklin Medical Centre in Columbus, Ohio, officials said.
Relatives of Sowell’s victims were relieved to hear of his death.
Donnita Carmichael, daughter of victim Tonia Carmichael, said: “I am glad he is dead. God made it happen. I will never, ever, ever forgive him.”
Joann Moore, whose sister Janice Webb was also killed by Sowell, added: “We can go on because he’s dead. We don’t have to hear about him any more.”
The remains of the 11 women were found by police at Sowell’s home in Cleveland in October 2009 as police were investigating him over a rape case.
A POTTY cleric in Iran told his followers the COVID-19 vaccination turns people into “homosexuals” – which is punishable by death in the Asian country.
Ayatollah Abbas Tabrizian made the outrageous claims on the social media platform Telegram.
“Don’t go near those who have had the COVID vaccine,” the radical Islamist wrote to his nearly 210,000 followers. “They have become homosexuals.”
Tabrizian, whose followers refer to him as ayatollah, has a history of promoting bigotry and false information about Western medicine.
Last year, the totalitarian burned a western medical textbook in a videotaped ceremony, claiming that “Islamic medicine” had made such books “irrelevant”.
Veteran gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell said: “He’s demonising both the vaccination program and LGBT+ people without a shred of evidence.”
