GET ready for a summer of loving... nine out of ten holidaymakers have more adventurous sex when they are away, according to a new survey.

It found 89% of sunseekers like to try new things in the bedroom when they are on a break.

Half of trippers (57%) have enjoyed sex on the beach, which is the most popular location for outdoor passion.

The second most popular place for al fresco sex is a beauty spot (39% of men and 35% of women have tried this), followed by a field (35% of men and 28% of women), park (31% of men and 25% of women) and swimming pool (27% of men and 21% of women).

Nearly all of us (92% of men and 88% of women) have had sex outside at some point in our lives.

The ITV2 show Love Island is helping to drive this new summer of love.

More than half of sunseekers ( 54%) say watching the show makes them horny and more likely to experiment sexually.

The survey of 2,000 people was done by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading affairs site.

It found that 82% of men and 78% of women said holidays were an aphrodisiac and they desire sex more when they are away.

The three main reasons for this were ‘I feel happier because the weather is nice’, ‘People are wearing less and that makes me horny’ and ‘I’m more likely to party when the sun is out’.

And 54% of men and 46% of women have cheated on their partners while on a break in the sun.

The most popular events for male cheating were stag dos (22% of men have had a fling while away with their mates before a wedding) and 18% of women have been unfaithful on a hen do.

Lots of us have been caught out having sex outdoors (happening to 31% of men and 28% of women).

Nine out of ten men (91%) and 88% of women agree that ‘what goes on tour stays on tour’ (they would not tell on a mate who had cheated on their partner while on a break with friends).

The best thing about sex outdoors is the spontaneity, chosen by 68% of men and 66% of women.

The about worst things sex outdoors were lack of comfort (62% of men and 68% of women) and fear of getting caught (54% of men and 61% of women).

Half of couples, 52% of men and 48% of women, said they hoped to have sex outside this summer to celebrate the end of lockdown.

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationship expert at IllicitEncounters.com, said: “We have just gone through the most miserable 16 months.

“We’re looking forward to a summer of loving with more adventurous sex, fun on the beach and lots of affairs.

“Our data shows a surge in cheating which starts in July and runs right through the summer as we go out and party more.

“When people in a relationship go away with their mates, they often see it as an opportunity to cheat.

“That mentality of ‘what goes on tour stays on tour’ remains for both sexes. A fling in a foreign country feels much less harmless than seeing someone when you are at home.”
