SUCCESSION star Matthew Macfadyen says seeing his wife’s sex scenes with Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden was a “weird experience”.
Matthew met actor wife Keeley Hawes on the set of MI5 spy drama Spooks in 2002, before they wed in 2004.
He described it as “weird” seeing his wife act in passionate sex scenes while filming the BBC show with Madden.
When the 47-year-old was asked if he found it “uncomfortable to see his wife in other men’s arms” he shrugged and said it was “just weird”.
But when asked if it ever “touched a nerve” he conceded that it did, adding: “It does a little bit.”
And he went on to say that his knowledge of how sex scenes work helped ease his discomfort.
He said: “It’s the least sexy thing you can possibly imagine.”
Matthew also applauded more productions making use of intimacy coordinators, adding he had “heard stories” of other actors feeling pressured to do things they were uncomfortable with in those situations.
He said: “I wish we’d had them. Because then you’re not afraid to go, ‘I don’t want to do that.’
“It sounds OTT, but it’s a healthy overcorrection, because it takes away the pressure to take off all your clothes, or do stuff you didn’t want to do.” When quizzed about his own relationship, Matthew admitted it was “not easy” to maintain a marriage in an industry that often requires so much intimacy with other people.

He added: “You can get quite close to the actors you’re working with and all that stuff. It’s odd.”
Sexy Keeley is no stranger to sex and nude scenes.
She famously went full frontal in the 2000 flick Complicity and was in a memorable lesbian romp in the TV drama Tipping the Velvet.
