Licence suspended over abuse claims VET ‘HAD SEX WITH HORSE’

-

A VET charged with domestic violence and having sex with a horse has had his licence suspended.

Phillip Dilts, of Fredericktown, Ohio, is charged with two counts of domestic violence and one of sexual conduct with an animal.

Dr Dilts, 66, was arrested and pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Knox County Sheriff deputies went to Dilts’s home after a report about a domestic dispute.

They were told Dilts was caught by his wife having sex with a horse.

Court records state that when his wife caught him behind the horse, he threatened to shoot himself.

Dilts then tried to enter the cellar at the property where his guns were kept, but his wife blocked him, records state.

Dilts then pushed his wife out of the way twice, and when his daughter intervened to try and separate them, he pushed her to the ground.

Cops said that Dilts, who had been drinking vodka that night, told them he did not have sex with the horse but that he was about to do so.

Rob Broeren, Mount Vernon law director, said there is enough evidence to pursue charges.

“A prosecutor can only bring charges and sustain them if they feel they can prove them beyond a reasonable doubt,” he said, noting that sheriff’s deputies wearing body cameras recorded Dilts’s statements.

Dilts said he and his estranged wife are in the process of a divorce and that the bestiality accusation is retaliatory.

“We had a sick horse, and I was waiting for it to eat its oats,” he said. “I was standing behind it, and I took it by the tail and was turning it when my wife looked through an opening in the barn.”

The Ohio Veterinary Medical Licencing Board voted unanimously to suspend Dilts’s licence with immediate effect.
