LATEST FIAT DUCATO NEARS LAUNCH
Fiat has released more details of the new Ducato, Europe’s most popular motorhome base vehicle, as well as details of the new Doblò and Scudo.
The manufacturer said it has a significant presence in both the professional and the leisure world. “For the latter, campervans indeed represent a strategic asset for the brand, and it has established itself as a cornerstone in the recreational vehicle market,” said Fiat.
The new E-Ducato is the crown jewel of the new range, and is powered by a 110kWh battery that, says Fiat, offers a range of up to 261 miles, which is 30% more than the previous one.
The charging system is also completely new and allows 80% battery charging in as little as 55 minutes.
The new Ducato is available with an “Eat&Work” seat bench, which is a combination of a rotating front table and a rear zone organised with cup holders and storage ports for pens or utensils. Technology features include Keyless Entry and Go (standard on the electric version), an electric parking brake, a 10in touchscreen and a central 7in full digital cockpit.
The diesel engines include a 140hp power plant coupled to a six-speed manual transmission or the new eight-speed automatic transmission, which is available on the 140 and 180hp engines.
The new Ducato also sees a reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 by up to 5% compared to the previous model.
