HOW TO DO IT: DETAIL YOUR STATION

The Heljan lamp post carries a ‘retro’ BR sign (a feature of several Cornish stations) featuring the original spelling of the name. The station signs were produced from a Scalescenes download. I made planters, based on those at St Erth, from balsa wood to cover the bases of the Heljan lamps. I have maintained a traditional look by using Ratio GWR ‘spear’ iron railings but painting them in a modern bright blue using a car paint aerosol from Halfords. The shelter is by Bachmann Scenecraft.
