HOW TO DO IT: BUILD THE CAR
The car body, which also forms the windows, is cut and glued together from clear styrene sheet, and strips of paper-thin white styrene glued over the top to form the body panels around the windows. Styrene sheet is cut and glued together to form the box-shaped undercarriage which houses the two ‘Z’ gauge wheelsets. I cut an opening in the top of the undercarriage and placed a metal nut inside to add weight and increase stability. A bent piece of thin piano wire, glued to the underside of the undercarriage, forms a loop where the hook and line will attach. The figure is glued onto a false floor and inserted inside the carriage prior to gluing on the roof.
