To test the funicular system, make a small hook from household fuse wire and tie the nylon to it. This clips to the piano wire coupling on the car. Use Blu-tack to temporarily support each end of the track, and the geared motor wired, via a switch, to a 3V to 6V power supply. you may need to make several adjustments to the length of the nylon line so that the carriage travels the correct distance without falling off the end of the track.
