Inglenook 8: Snibston Colliery
Inspired by the defunct, preserved arrangement at Snibston Colliery in Leicestershire, the wider pit head section occupies a space of 4ft 6in by 1ft 6in, with modest sidings for shunting and locomotive facilities. At exhibition, the layout would be extended with two equal-length boards (having a combined width of the original to make packing easier), and supported on weighted A-frames at suitable intervals.
