DAPOL ADDS ‘14XX’ TO ‘O’ GAUGE FLEET

-

Dapol has added a branch line classic to its range of pocket-sized ‘O’ gauge steam locomotives. In 1932 the GWR introduced its 75 0-4-2Ts – which followed a Charles Collett design but were inspired by an earlier one from Armstrong – for branch line and autotrain working. They were originally classified ‘48XX’ but were reclassified and renumbered in the ‘14XX’ series after the Second World War. A batch of 20 that weren’t fitted with push-pull gear were introduced in 1933 and classified ‘58XX’. Dapol’s model will complement its ex-lionheart autocoach. It promises a fully compensated die-cast chassis, flickering firebox glow, removable cab roof, sprung buffers and Dapol’s new ‘Quick-t’ DCC and speaker design.
