NEW MARKET FOR MINERVA

Minerva Model Railways has moved into the world of ready-to-run ‘O’ gauge rolling stock with its next model, the GWR ‘Iron Mink’ van. The GWR introduced these metal-bodied vehicles in the late 19th century and 20,000 were built, the last remaining in Departmental service until the 1980s. Minerva’s model is set to feature a plastic body and chassis, compensated axleboxes, sprung buffers and hook draw-gear with three-link couplings. Three liveries are available: GWR with 25in lettering, GWR with 16in lettering and British Railways unfitted grey. The models are due for release in November.
