MODELLER CV: ROBIN SWEET
Robin and his father shared a passion for model railways. He had a train set when he was a child in the 1970s, but it was a chance encounter that brought him back to the hobby years later. “My father and I were passing a model shop in Warwick – over 20 years ago,” he explains. “On the spur of the moment we bought a GWR mixed freight train set. We set it up in his garage and everything spiralled from there.” Work on ‘A Nod to Brent’ started in 2003. Robin has continuously refined the layout over the years: “I don’t think layouts are ever finished,” he says. “I’m always adding, detailing and weathering new stock. That’s the aspect of the hobby I enjoy the most.”
