On the buses

Phill’s bus garage is another feature that captures the essence of 1950s London Transport. The building, based on the office and canteen building at Leatherhead, plays host to some significant vehicles: Pioneer Routemaster RM1 is on its tour of LT bus depots as the ‘bus of the future’ and is being inspected by local drivers and conductors. Alongside, is one of the new AEC Regal IV RFW touring coaches in green and cream livery, with a standard red RF behind. And to complete the line-up at the garage is a Regal IV British European Airways coach in its attractive blue and grey finish. Phill scratchbuilt the latter, built his RFS from Brynkits products and RM1 is a modified Lesney Matchbox model.
