‘Inspirational Breaks’ is a new initiative from the Model Rail team. We plan to take you behind the scenes of some of the country’s most inspirational railway locations, giving you the chance to get up close and personal with locomotives, rolling stock and railway infrastructure, and access to the information and details you need to make your models and layouts as accurate as possible. Our first ‘Inspirational Break’ covers the ever-popular Great Western Railway. Join us on the weekend of March 23-25 as we take you to Didcot Railway Centre, STEAM – the Museum of the GWR at Swindon and the famous Pendon Museum. This is an opportunity not to be missed for fans of ‘God’s Wonderful Railway’. You will get the chance to explore areas of Didcot not normally open to the public, including some of its unique and historical collection of locomotives and rolling stock. You’ll get exclusive access to Pendon Museum, plus a tour of STEAM – and Swindon’s Railway Village – that are not part of the normal programme of events.
