ORDER BOOK IS NOW OPEN FOR RAPIDO’S ‘TITFIELD THUNDERBOLT’ MODEL LINE-UP

Rapido Trains UK has announced that the order book for three key models from the ‘Titfield Thunderbolt’ range is now open. This range of ‘Titfield Thunderbolt’ models are the only products licensed from and fully endorsed by Studiocanal, which owns the rights to the classic 1953 Ealing comedy. Rapido’s sales and marketing manager Richard Foster said, “Developing ‘The Titfield Thunderbolt’ range is a hugely ambitious project for a new business like ours. We deliberately kept the order book closed until design work was complete. Given the number of variations we’d need to make, coupled with global price rises, we wanted to ensure that there would be no hidden nasties that would mean we’d have to raise the price.”

Design work has now been completed on three key products, meaning that the train packs containing Thunderbolt, the ‘Loriot Y’ carrying Dan’s House and the ‘Toad’ brake van, are now available to order. Orders are also being taken for Lion and the ‘Loriot Y’ in their non-titfield, historical liveries too.

Still to come from Rapido Trains UK are the ex-wisbech & Upwell tramcar and the Bedford OB coach, operated by chief antagonists, Pearce & Crump.

All models will be in stock by March 2023, the 70th anniversary of the film’s release. What’s available?
