Although her on-stage musicians play keyboards, in the studio she builds up the tracks from Tunisian lutes (gumbri), flutes (zukra) and hand drums (bendir). Her songs were banned in Tunisia so she moved to France and put them on YouTube . She formed a goth-metal band at engineering school – back then, she “hated” Arabic music.
