Sterry merry

Dudley Sterry secured a hat-trick of Pomeroy Trophy wins in the Vintage Sports Car Club’s competition at Silverstone last month. Sterry won the event in his 1937/39 HRS, having also claimed victories in 2010 and 2013. David Wylie could have challenged for the crown but was handed a penalty for his 1928 Frazer Nash not being fitted with a proper hood – a requirement of the ‘Grand Tourer’ status – so he had to settle for second.
