Lynch ea­ger to kick off his MSA Su­per Na­tional Cham­pi­onship cam­paign with Ford Ka

Su­per Na­tional com­peti­tor Tony Lynch will start as one of the favourites for the Su­per Na­tional Ral­ly­cross Cham­pi­onship this sea­son, hav­ing bought the Ford Ka that Gareth Wood used to fin­ish se­cond in the cat­e­gory last year.

Lynch raced a su­per­charged BMW Mini in the Bri­tish Cham­pi­onship in 2015, a car up­graded from the sin­gle-make Mini that he used to win the Mini class ti­tle in 2013.

The Wi­gan driver tested the Ka, which was orig­i­nally built by Phil Col­lard and later cam­paigned by Ben Power, Dan O’brian and Gareth Wood, at Bly­ton Park last Sun­day in prepa­ra­tion for the first Bri­tish RX event at Croft this week­end.

“Since I’ve come into ral­ly­cross in 2005, I’ve only ever re­ally driven pro­duc­tion cars. This is the first out-and-out rac­ing car I’ve ever had,” said Lynch.
