Lynch eager to kick off his MSA Super National Championship campaign with Ford Ka
Super National competitor Tony Lynch will start as one of the favourites for the Super National Rallycross Championship this season, having bought the Ford Ka that Gareth Wood used to finish second in the category last year.
Lynch raced a supercharged BMW Mini in the British Championship in 2015, a car upgraded from the single-make Mini that he used to win the Mini class title in 2013.
The Wigan driver tested the Ka, which was originally built by Phil Collard and later campaigned by Ben Power, Dan O’brian and Gareth Wood, at Blyton Park last Sunday in preparation for the first British RX event at Croft this weekend.
“Since I’ve come into rallycross in 2005, I’ve only ever really driven production cars. This is the first out-and-out racing car I’ve ever had,” said Lynch.
