Renault on the up
Formula 1 rookie Jolyon Palmer reckons his Renault team has the resources to out-develop other teams this year as it fights to get itself back to the front. The revived works team lost ground with a lengthy takeover process over the winter, so is running largely a carried-over car design. Palmer, who just missed points on his F1 debut in Australia, said: “I’m massively confident we can improve on such performance [as Melbourne]. Considering the takeover was just before Christmas, the money started flowing late and production was very, very late. But we have upgrades coming all the time and I think we can out-develop a lot of our rivals.”
