MG Trophy benchmark Chris Bray to return

-

Multiple MG Trophy champion Chris Bray will return to the series this year after a sabbatical of one season.

Bray spent 2015 on the sidelines operating his own Finishline UK team, but will return to the driving seat for this season to aim for his fourth overall title, following on from his successes in 2009, 2012 and 2014. He will race in the top ZR 190 class of the series.

“Our sponsors have been quite keen for me to return,” said Bray. “There are quite a few variables with the specifications of the [Dunlop] tyres changing last year. Although we do have data, we won’t have much testing planned before round one at Donington [on April 3].”

Bray is hopeful that he will be able to fight for a fourth championship and has targeted the second meeting of the year at Brands Hatch on April 30/ May 1 as the place he can begin his charge for race wins.

“If we can stay near the top at Donington Park [despite a lack of testing] then hopefully we can be at the front at Brands,” he added.

“We have had a lot of success there in previous seasons with race wins and so hopefully we will be quick this year.”
