Hermetite Capri to race at Silverstone Classic
A recreation of the famous Hermetite-liveried Group 1 Ford Capri will compete this season in the hands of period driver Holman (Les) Blackburn.
Blackburn and Mike Crabtree raced the original Hermetite Team car in Britain and Europe in the 1970s.
David Weir worked with the squad at the time and has been responsible for the recreation, which appeared in public for the first time at a Goodwood test earlier this month.
Weir sourced a Capri Mark 2 and Ric Wood has prepared it to 1974/1975 specification, with help from some of the original team.
Weir and Blackburn will share the Capri at the Silverstone Classic and two historic Spa meetings.
