Former karter steps up historic attack
Racing dentist Ross Drybrough will campaign three historic race cars this season, led by a second Historic FF1600 programme in his Merlyn Mk20.
The former karter only started racing last spring and got quicker and quicker as the season developed.
He has acquired a Brabham BT35X, which is a former hillclimb car now prepared to Historic F2 specification. The car has spent more than a decade in Japan. “I hope to use it in Classic Racing Cars and maybe Historic F2,” said Sussex-based Drybrough.
He also has a barn-find Lotus Cortina, which will be a rebuild project. “I love the whole camaraderie in the historic paddock,” he added.
