Butler-henderson back to defend his Challenge title with backing from Mini UK team

-

Reigning Mini Challenge champion Charlie ButlerHenderson will return to defend his title this year after signing to become an ambassador of the marque.

Butler-henderson will return to the series under the new factory supported Mini UK VIP Customer Support Team banner, and will run his car in the original John Cooper Works colours. Butler-henderson is the second driver to receive support from Mini UK, following Dakar Rally driver Harry Hunt.

Butler-henderson, who took seven race wins on his way to the title last year when running with the Oakfield Motorsport team, said: “To be representing Mini UK is an honour.

“The championship will be hard work this season with 32 cars entered. I tested with the Mini UK team recently and the car feels brilliant but the change to Dunlop tyres [from Pirelli] for this year means everybody will have to revise their set-ups and driving styles as getting heat into the new tyres is tougher.

“I’m not surprised the numbers are up this year. The F56 cars are great – they’re fast, pop flames out the back and are fun to drive.”
