Record entry for Classic Sports Car Club season opener at Snetterton this weekend

-

The Classic Sports Car Club will start 2016 with a record season-opener entry at Snetterton this weekend.

Last year, the Snetterton meeting had 327 entries but this year’s tally passed that mark a week ago. Allowing for some second drivers, more than 400 drivers will be racing.

“Included in that total are 83 cars from the 1960s,” said the club’s David Smitheram. “Despite these cars getting older every year their popularity with the CSCC increases.”

The largest single grid is for the Future Classics Series, where this year’s split of decades has succeeded in attracting more 1970s cars.
