Wright cleans up trials again
Ian Wright led the JB Taylor Sporting Trial all day with a masterful display to win by 20 points. He became the seventh different winner in this season’s opening eight events.
Conditions proved challenging, with the unforgiving bracken and bluebells meaning a spun wheel stopped the car quickly. Roland Uglow retook the British championship lead by holding second place all day, but a poor final round nearly dropped him down the order.
Duncan Stephens had a slow start, having won last time out a month ago, but a much improved last round saw him steadily climb up to third, just two points behind Uglow. ● Barrie Parker won the Falcon Motor Club’s Ivinghoe Car Trial in Bedfordshire by a clear margin on Sunday, having dominated his class all day.
