Harper the Junior star at Donington

- By Damian Meaden

Daniel Harper was the star of the triple header at Donington as he claimed a hat-trick of podium finishes, including the final race win, on a near-perfect weekend for the Douglas driver.

In the opening contest, Lewis Brown fended off Stuart Middleton to claim victory, while Harper completed the podium.

Brown and Middleton rekindled their battle in the second race, but after the latter took the lead at half-distance, Brown tumbled down the order, giving Harper the chance to take the fight to Middleton, which he duly obliged with a pass with five minutes to go. However, Middleton fought back and later repassed Harper to claim the honours.

Harper took the race three lead from Will Tregurtha into Coppice after an early safety car. A seven-car train contested the lead, with Brown squeezing into second down the Craner Curves, but he later lost out to Tregurtha as Harper finished the weekend on top after visiting each step of the podium.
