Josef Newgarden was eighth, returning to racing just two weeks after his horrific shunt in the postponed Texas race… Arden’s Egor Orudzhev became the first two-time winner in Formula V8 3.5 this season after triumphing in the opening race at Paul Ricard last weekend. Roy Nissany battled with Orudzhev in the closing stages but was unable to get ahead. Louis Deletraz won for Fortec in race two, getting ahead of Nissany and Orudzhev during the pitstops… Edoardo Mortara claimed the opening DTM win at the Norisring last weekend after leaders Christian Vietoris, Robert Wickens and Mattias Ekstrom collided. Nico Muller took his first DTM win in race two after passing Tom Blomqvist during the stops… Tom Coronel (Chevrolet) and Tiago Monteiro (Honda) shared the World Touring Car Championship spoils at Vila Real last weekend as Citroen again failed to win either race. But Jose Maria Lopez continues to dominate the title battle with two fifth places meaning his advantage is still 101 points… The Mclaren 650S GT3 of Rob Bell, Come Ledogar and Shane van Gisbergen won the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup race at Paul Ricard last weekend. The Bentley of Andy Soucek, Wolfgang Reip and Maxime Soulet was a contender for the win but the Continental GT3 caught fire in the pits and eventually finished fourth.
