Stiles gets back behind the wheel at Lydden

-

Trevor Stiles, former Lydden Formula Ford champion and Champion of Brands runner-up, was back behind the wheel of his Van Diemen RF80 for Saturday’s Test Day at Lydden.

The Heathfield resident, 71, was there to oversee his son Ben’s first time out in a racing car. Trevor has not raced since 1995.

Ben, 21 and a student of motorsport engineering at Bath University, said: “Dad’s enthusiasm is infectious and the sport has always attracted me anyway, so it’s exciting to be a part of it.

“I had a couple of slides (on a dry track) but I really enjoyed it.”

The pair plan to race together in New Zealand during the British winter.
