Millington returns to the lanes for the first time in over 30 years
Two-time MN Road Rally champion John Millington took the start on Saturday night’s PK Memorial Rally.
This was his first appearance on a road event since the JJ Brown Memorial Rally in 1985, a Motorsport News Road Rally Championship event. Navigating for Guy Woodcock, he was denied a finish after their car failed the damage check at the end of the rally. The former M-sport WRC co-ordinator won the MN series in 1981 and 1985, navigating for Ron Beecroft.
“It’s the first road rally I’ve done in 31 years,” said Millington. “The format and the way it was run took me by surprise, it was very good, very competitive. As good as it was in the Motoring News days if you like. It was fantastic; I’d love to do another pre-plot event, absolutely.”
