Please entertain me

Having been a fan for a long time, and watched all branches of the sport on two and four wheels, it seems to me that motor racing really needs to decide where its priorities lay.

Of course, all formulae are driven by investment from sponsors, and they only get involved if the TV figures are high or there is a sizeable trackside audience.

To some categories (touring cars especially) play to the enteratinment side of things, while others go for a pure sporting spectacle.

There has to be a happy medium somewhere. Can’t we find a formula with no gimmicks, just good racing? Jack Clothier Via email
