Brundle gets G-drive LMP2 seat for WEC King leads home Rowland and Lynn for all-british GP2 podium in race two in Austria
Jordan King led home the first ever British 1-2-3 in GP2 in the second race at Austria last weekend.
The Racing Engineering driver scored a lights-to-flag victory in race two after starting from pole thanks to the reversed grid. Oliver Rowland soon got ahead of Norman Nato to secure second, while Alex Lynn completed the all-british line-up on the podium.
King said: “This feels really special. It’s been a slightly up-and-down start to the season, and this win will give everyone in the garage a confidence boost. Next week we’ll be in Silverstone and I hope we can put in another great performance there.”
Mitch Evans won a crazy when he finished as runner-up in the championship in an Oak Racing Morgan.
“This is a real privilege and I’m delighted to be doing the final six WEC races,” said Brundle. “The team has proven itself as one of the best endurance outfits worldwide. With the massive experience of Rene and the pace of Roman I think we will make a potent combination.”
