RACE CONTROL, CHARLIE WHITING
The decision to start the race under the safety car was understandable, if frustrating. But yet again the safety car was left out until track conditions were dry enough for intermediates. Ten cars followed the safety car into the pits to change tyres, and by the end of the second racing lap everybody had made a stop. As several drivers pointed out, if this is going to keep happening what’s the point of having full wet tyres at all?
