Brown aids stricken spectator on Epynt

Junior British Rally Championship driver Blair Brown was awarded the SORT Oil Spirit of the Rally award after a selfless act on Sunday afternoon.

Brown stopped to help a spectator who had trapped his car on a rock.

“We were queuing for refuel after service,” said Brown. “I was checking the tyre pressures and I heard a bang. At first I thought someone had crashed into our car. A guy went up the side of the road on the grass and beached on a rock. I lifted it [the car] up to get it off the rock.”

Brown also managed to help his team of just three mechanics switch his car from gravel to asphalt on Saturday evening in the short two and a half hour period before parc ferme.
