Red Bull ju­nior Pierre Gasly has claimed the GP2 points lead after tak­ing a com­fort­able win in the open­ing race at the Hun­garor­ing last week­end. Gasly led home Prema team­mate An­to­nio Giov­inazzi be­fore fin­ish­ing sev­enth in race two to con­sol­i­date his ad­van­tage. ART driver Sergey Sirotkin won the sec­ond race, claim­ing his first vic­tory of 2016, after mak­ing a storm­ing start to climb from sixth to sec­ond. The Rus­sian then passed leader Jor­dan King after a restart, deny­ing the Brit the chance to claim a third con­sec­u­tive re­verse-grid win… Bri­tish driv­ers starred in GP3 last week­end with a maiden win for Matt Parry, first podium for Jake Den­nis and An­glo-thai racer Alexan­der Al­bon tak­ing the cham­pi­onship lead. Parry took full ad­van­tage of pole­sit­ter Nyck de Vries stalling on the grid at the start of the opener to se­cure the win, the Koira­nen driver man­ag­ing to hold off the threat of An­to­nio Fuoco. Den­nis com­pleted the podium in third. Al­bon beat pole­man Ar­jun Maini off the line in race two and was never threat­ened to the flag. With for­mer points leader Charles Le­clerc only pick­ing up a sixth and a third, Al­bon now tops the stand­ings by three points… Kyle Busch dom­i­nated the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at In­di­anapo­lis last week­end, lead­ing 141 of the 170 laps. Matt Kenseth and Jim­mie John­son com­pleted the podium, while re­turn­ing four-time cham­pion Jeff Gor­don – who came out of re­tire­ment to deputise for the ill Dale Earn­hardt Jr – was 13th… Honda will run an ex­tra works car for Su­per GT racer Ryo Michigami for its home race of the World Tour­ing Car Cham­pi­onship in Septem­ber…
