LESLIE’S RACER MAKES RETURN

in the 1993 drivers’ standings.

Recently found in Norway, chassis 010 has been bought by Ecurie Ecosse members and racers Bryant, Joe Twyman, Alasdair Mccaig and Andrew Smith.

They have returned the car, which had been used as a track day machine in 1995 bewinged specification, to its 1993 form.

Bryant, who has tested the Vauxhall at Donington Park but not raced a front-wheel-drive car before, said: “Our plan is to run it in the Super Touring Trophy at some point. The opportunity came up to buy the car and the series is taking off.

“The Cavalier won’t be supercompetitive, but we certainly wanted it in the right specification.”
