Harris aims to get title bid on track

Mini Cooper driver Phil Harris is aiming to get his British Historic Rally Championship campaign back on track on the Red Dragon Rally on August 20 after a rare retirement on the recent Harry Flatters Rally.

Oil pressure concerns on the opening stage on Epynt prompted the car’s first retirement in 13 rallies since being built by RSR Historic Engineering for Harris’s return to rallying after a gap of more than 20 years.

“With the next three rounds close together, including the Isle of Man, we thought it was better not to risk destroying the engine and then not getting out on the next round,” said Harris.
