Sinclair upgrades to Mckinstry Subaru S14

-

Scottish Rally Championship campaigner Shaun Sinclair will step up from his usual Subaru Impreza S9 WRC to an S14B for the Grampian Rally after hiring a car from Kenny Mckinstry.

Sinclair’s S9 is being rebuilt ready for the Scot to return to the Manx after a two-year hiatus from the island.

He had planned to rent Melvyn Evans’ S12B, but while in Ulster with his son quad biking, Dave Weston Jr completed a deal to hire the car. “It was almost over, I was going to pull the pin,” said Sinclair. “I sent a text message to Kenny at short notice. It’s a proper tool: it will take time to settle in. I’m stoked about it.”

Sinclair drove Hugh Hunter’s Ford Fiesta R5 on the DMACK Carlisle Stages finishing 15th overall. He struggled to adapt to the R5 and returned to his S9 for the RSAC Scottish Rally where he retired.
