Sid­dall and Bull tame the Balkan Clas­sic Ral­lye

Bri­tish crew An­drew Sid­dall and Andy Bull have won the in­au­gu­ral Balkan Clas­sic Ral­lye af­ter eight days of com­pe­ti­tion.

Sid­dall topped the fin­ish­ers in his East African Sa­fari-spec­i­fi­ca­tion Dat­sun 260Z af­ter more than 1200 miles of dirt roads, gravel tracks and moun­tain tracks.

The route crossed Bulgaria from west to east, with ter­rain rang­ing from moun­tains to plains on the run from the start in the city cen­tre of Sofia to the fin­ish on the coast of the Black Sea.

“This is the first over­all win in my his­toric ral­ly­ing ca­reer, and at such a fan­tas­tic event,” said York­shire­man Sid­dall.

Or­gan­iser Alexan­der Ko­vatchev has al­ready con­firmed that he will run a sec­ond edi­tion in 2017.
