Rare Mclaren set for Castle Combe

-

The Mclaren M10B used by Peter Gethin to win one of only two Formula 5000 races at Castle Combe will return to the Wiltshire track on Saturday to be demonstrated during the Autumn Classic.

In May 1970, Gethin took the Sid Taylor-entered car to victory and smashed the outright circuit record by nearly eight seconds.

Matthew Wurr will drive the same car this weekend at the Wiltshire track on behalf of current owner Martin Longmore.

The parade will also feature a Ferrari 250 GTO and 250 MM from Nick Mason’s stable, while event sponsor Julian Bronson will run his front-engined Scarab Grand Prix car.
