DTM ta­ble-top­per Marco Wittmann suf­fered a week­end to for­get at the Hun­garor­ing, mean­ing the ti­tle fight will go into the fi­nal round of the sea­son. BMW racer Wittmann was just sev­enth in the first race as Audis swept the board, led by his ti­tle ri­val Edoardo Mor­tara win­ning from Bri­tain’s Jamie Green. Mor­tara and Wittmann then clashed at the start of race two, which gave Mor­tara a punc­ture. Wittmann re­cov­ered to fin­ish fourth, but was later ex­cluded when of­fi­cials deemed the skid pads un­derneath his M4 to be be­low the min­i­mum limit. Wittmann now leads Mor­tara by just 14 points with two races to go in Hock­en­heim… Kevin Har­vick won last week­end’s NASCAR race at New Hamp­shire to ad­vance to the sec­ond stage of the Chase. Har­vick started just 19th on the grid, but surged up to third by two-thirds dis­tance. Har­vick then passed Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth with five laps to go to se­cure the win… Volvo cel­e­brated its first FIA World Tour­ing Car Cham­pi­onship vic­tory cour­tesy of Thed Bjork in China. Bjork qual­i­fied sixth for the first race but had ad­vanced to sec­ond by the mid­way point. He then chased down leader Nor­bert Miche­lisz’s Honda be­fore draft­ing past in the fi­nal turns to give the Polestar Volvo team its maiden suc­cess. Citroen’s world cham­pion Jose Maria Lopez dom­i­nated race two to claim his eighth win of the year. Yvan Muller fin­ished sec­ond. Rob Huff had a test­ing week­end with only ninth and 13th place fin­ishes… Bri­tish brand Ginetta will run at least five G57s in the 24H Proto Se­ries that will sup­port the Dubai 24 Hours next Jan­uary…
