DTM table-topper Marco Wittmann suffered a weekend to forget at the Hungarorin­g, meaning the title fight will go into the final round of the season. BMW racer Wittmann was just seventh in the first race as Audis swept the board, led by his title rival Edoardo Mortara winning from Britain’s Jamie Green. Mortara and Wittmann then clashed at the start of race two, which gave Mortara a puncture. Wittmann recovered to finish fourth, but was later excluded when officials deemed the skid pads underneath his M4 to be below the minimum limit. Wittmann now leads Mortara by just 14 points with two races to go in Hockenheim… Kevin Harvick won last weekend’s NASCAR race at New Hampshire to advance to the second stage of the Chase. Harvick started just 19th on the grid, but surged up to third by two-thirds distance. Harvick then passed Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth with five laps to go to secure the win… Volvo celebrated its first FIA World Touring Car Championsh­ip victory courtesy of Thed Bjork in China. Bjork qualified sixth for the first race but had advanced to second by the midway point. He then chased down leader Norbert Michelisz’s Honda before drafting past in the final turns to give the Polestar Volvo team its maiden success. Citroen’s world champion Jose Maria Lopez dominated race two to claim his eighth win of the year. Yvan Muller finished second. Rob Huff had a testing weekend with only ninth and 13th place finishes… British brand Ginetta will run at least five G57s in the 24H Proto Series that will support the Dubai 24 Hours next January…
