Butler headed to ST Trophy after Rally GB

Guy Butler will compete in next year’s Fiesta ST Trophy in the BTRDA, but not before making his international rally debut on Wales Rally GB later this month.

Butler competed on last year’s Wales Rally GB National event, but will step up to the international in a rallyme-prepared Renault Twingo R1.

“I’m sad there’s only one R1 entered so we don’t have much competition,” said Butler. “But we’re excited to do it and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I live in Cholmondeley so it’s coming to my house!”

Next year Butler will drive George Lepley’s Ford Fiesta ST after purchasing the car.

“My mate John Ambler is co-driving in the Fiesta Trophy this year, so I thought we’d get Lepley’s and it will be reliable. I think George is really fast and if we can have his reliability that would be great.

“What Ian Arden, the championship co-ordinator has done is great. He works so hard to promote the championship and if it wasn’t for him and John Pritchard, there wouldn’t be anything for these cars.”
