Newby to join MN Circuit series
Arron Newby will compete in the Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship at Cadwell Park in the new TEG Sport Subaru.
Newby won the Harold Palin Memorial Stages at Mallory Park on October 9 and says the new B13 Impreza is ready for more events. He’ll compete on the Kingdom Stages (November 5) and the Cadwell Stages (November 20) in the car.
“The speed of it is night and day compared to anything else I’ve driven,” said Newby. “We’ve got a bit of work to do with the dampers but it’s really coming on.
“Every rally we do improves the handling more. It’s a good entry with a few world cars and some Darrians. We’ll do well to beat the Escorts and the Darrians as they’re so light, but we’ll give it a go.”
The car is a lightweight Group N car, with the renowned TEG Sport engines, which have won rounds of the British Rally Championship when the series featured Group N cars at the front before 2011.
The car also has a clever electronic paddleshift gear change system.
