Palmer’s point

Jolyon Palmer has hit out at his Renault team for not calling any team orders during the USGP. Palmer spent long periods of the race chasing team-mate Kevin Magnussen, despite the drivers being on different strategies. “Mainly I was stuck behind Kevin and I couldn’t do anything,” said Palmer. “For a lot of the race I was 1.5s behind and damaging my tyres struggling to follow him. I knew I was quicker, but couldn’t get through. I was hoping the team might switch us.”
