Dutch teenager van Uitert could return to Festival next year

Dutch teenager Job van Uitert hasn’t ruled out having another shot at the Formula Ford Festival next season after an impressive debut last weekend.

The 18-year-old, who is fourth in this year’s Italian Formula 4 Championship, made his FF1600 debut with Geva Racing in a Van Diemen RF89. He put in a strong drive to finish second in the Historic Festival Final, having been elbowed down to 11th on the first lap. He then finished 12th in the main Final.

“Considering it’s my first time racing a Kent-powered car, it was a lot of fun and my times were really good,” said van Uitert.

“I’m going to test a Formula Renault Eurocup car soon, but next year I’ll probably do both Italian and German F4 to keep gaining experience. But I’ve really enjoyed this event so maybe I’ll look to come back for next year too.”
