Historics to head to the Republic

The series’s first visit to the Republic of Ireland is a key change for the 2017 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship.

The ALMC Stages near Dublin on July 2 has been added in place of the Red Dragon Rally in South Wales to give the eight-event calendar three asphalt events instead of two.

“We have responded to our competitors by adjusting the balance slightly between asphalt and gravel rallies,” said championship manager Colin Heppenstall.

“There is a growing move towards asphalt events in historic rallying and we have reflected this with our calendar.”

The Rally Isle of Man will again be a double-header to make nine rounds.
