Gwynnespeed Challenge opens C2 Max class to all 1600cc motors

-

The Gwynnespeed Rally Challenge will open up its Max class to all 1.6-litre Citroen C2s in 2017.

Organisers had originally intended to introduce the class for cars built to Gwynnespeed’s own Max specifications, but have now elected to allow all variants of the 1600cc machine.

“We’re opening up the Max class to any 1.6-litre C2s,” said organiser Holly Robinson. “That opens it up to things like the R2 Max. We know there’s a lot of drivers out there who don’t really know what to do with their cars in terms of the championship.”

While the calendar will stay the same in 2017, the plan is to take in more national events for the 2018 season.

“The calendar is set for next year as we’ve offered free entries for the championship events for next year. Hopefully in 2018 we’re looking to become more national and move away from our current area of events.”
