Carslaw to make four-wheel-drive debut at Crail

-

Scottish Rally Championship driver Caroline Carslaw will make the step up to four-wheel-drive machinery in the series next year.

Carslaw has competed in a Ford Fiesta ST since 2012, but after becoming a regular Class 7 frontrunner in the SRC, she’ll step up to a Subaru Impreza starting with the Kingdom Stages on November 5 at Crail.

“I’m looking forward to it, a bit nervous too,” said Carslaw. “It’s a different driving style being used to the front-wheel-drive Fiesta. We’ve sold the Fiesta. The plan is to do Crail as a warm-up event to get used to the car. Then we’ll do Grizedale at the end of November as a gravel warmup and then we’ll do the Scottish championship next year. I felt like I’d taken the Fiesta as far as I could with the results we were getting.” ● MN would like to correct a spelling error made in last week’s issue. Charley Sayer-payne, 24, has been added to the MSA Academy co-drivers scheme.
