Gough considering switch to GT racing

Formula Ford 1600 racer Stuart Gough is in talks with teams for a move to GT racing next season.

Gough has already tested the Ebor GT team’s British GT Maserati MC GT4 at Donington Park, and has experience in both European NASCAR and Formula Ford, in which he won the 2014 National title.

“I think it’ll be sportscars next as GT4 has grown so much in recent seasons,” said Gough, who contested last weekend’s Walter Hayes Trophy in a Kevin Mills Racing-run Spectrum. He finished ninth in the final.

“The Maserati was great fun. You get a load of power and much more grip than a FF1600, but there’s much more weight. I’m talking to teams and I’m friends with Nathan Freke at Century Motorsport, so there are options.”
