Kennedy steps up with BMW touring car outing in run at Silverstone
Teenager Charlie Kennedy made his senior race debut at Silverstone in a BMW M3 that his father Jason has built over a 16-year period.
Kennedy, who will be 17 in March and lives in Silverstone village, has spent three years in Junior Saloons and made his graduation in the Allcomers race at the Walter Hayes Trophy.
“I worked at Prodrive for 15 years,” said Jason, who engineered M3s in period. He started building the car at the time his son was born and it was finished in time for them to tackle the Rockingham Stages Rally last December.
“It’s more for racing,” said Jason and they now plan to race it more regularly in 2017.
